Meet the Owner

Hi, I’m Ebony, the heart behind The Ebony Collective.

Long before I ever imagined owning an event planning and décor business, I was creating moments at home with my family. For many years, some of my favorite memories were made around the table — planning and decorating events alongside my mom. Together, we hosted Christmas dinners, Thanksgiving gatherings, birthday celebrations, Easter dinners, and family reunions. I handled the décor, the setup, and the details that brought the space to life, while my mom poured love into every dish she cooked. It was our rhythm, our tradition, and our joy.

In March of 2024, I lost my mom, and with that loss came a deep pause. The desire to plan and decorate — something that had always brought me comfort and happiness — quietly faded. Those moments felt too heavy without her.

Then, in October of 2024 — my mom’s birthday month — an unexpected opportunity to start my own event planning business appeared, seemingly out of nowhere. What felt like a gentle nudge quickly became a calling. In that moment, I realized that the very thing I had been grieving was also the gift she had helped shape in me all along.

The Ebony Collective was born from faith, love, and legacy. Every event I design carries the spirit of those family gatherings — warmth, intention, and connection. I believe beautiful events aren’t just about décor; they’re about creating spaces where people feel welcomed, celebrated, and remembered.

Today, I’m living a dream I know my mom would be proud of — one that honors her, stretches my faith, and allows me to help others celebrate life’s most meaningful moments. This work is personal. It’s purposeful. And it’s done with heart.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your story.
